3. Click ‘Add Sensor’ and fill in the required details, including sensor name, IP address, and VPN IP address.

1. To set up network monitoring, you’ll need to define what activities OSSIM should monitor.
2. Go to Environment > Detection > Directives in the AlienVault Console.
3. Here, choose from pre-configured rules or create your own rules based on your specific need.

Step 5: Configure Incident Response

1. Upon detecting a potential security incident, OSSIM can respond in various ways depending on your settings.
2. Navigate to Configuration > Threat Intelligence > Responses in the AlienVault Console.
3. Configure the actions that should be taken in response to different types of incidents. You can opt for pre-configured responses or customize your own.

Step 6:  Configure Sensors  

1. Securing your network doesn’t end after the initial setup. Regular reviews and updates are crucial.
2. Frequently check the AlienVault Console for alerts or notifications.
3. Regularly review OSSIM-generated logs and reports to identify potential issues.
4. Update your rules, sensors, and responses based on your findings to maintain robust security.
